OUYA Gaming Console Receives First Exclusive Game - Droid Life

If console gaming is something that you are into, then you must be?familiar?with the Call of Duty series. One of the men behind the scenes that, near the end of his career, worked closely with the community for Infinity Ward and Activision, was Mr. Robert Bowling. Just recently, Mr. Bowling left his position at Infinity Ward (to the cheers of many Last Stand ?and Revenge Spawn victims) and created his very own game development company called Robotoki.

Robotoki?s Mr. Bowling recently tweeted that his company is in support of OUYA and plans to bring an exclusive game to the affordable gaming console. The game is called Human Element and it is based on a post-zombie-apocalyptic?Earth where the only thing left to do, is survive.?

Here is the email that was sent out to all Kickstarter backers:

We?d like to introduce you to Robert Bowling, president of the game developer Robotoki, and an early backer of our Kickstarter. You might recognize Robert from his work with the Call of Duty franchise.

Earlier today, from his Twitter account (@fourzerotwo), Robert hinted that he had some news.

Well here it is: OUYA gamers will get FIRST access to the ravaged world of his post-zombie-apocalyptic game,?Human Element.

Robotoki is the first studio to commit to building a game exclusively for OUYA: an episodic prequel that will set the stage for his eventual release ofHuman Element?in 2015.

Welcome to OUYA, Robert!

With the addition of Mr. Bowling?s support and the?knowledge?that they now have their first OUYA exclusive title, does this console interest you more? I will admit, if a game like Day Z comes to a console, I will be all over that.

Cheers Ryun!

Points You Need to Know in Changing to Virtual PBX Telephone System

Virtual PBX (Private Branch Exchange) is innovating the communication landscape for small-scale and budding enterprise groups. Commonly known as hosted PBX, it is an innovative phone system operated by business voip solutions. Given the continuous entry of innovations in the telephony sector, companies now possess alternatives to costly on-site public switched telephone networks. A hosted PBX system features amazing cost savings in terms of budget, supplies, time and workers. By just working with VoIP technology, telephone service providers are ready to deliver outstanding services.

Recent studies reaveled that hosted PBX systems are being adopted fast. Such is the case among small and expanding business organizations in the US and Canada. While more and more enterprises gradually turn to voip virtual pbx for cost-effective business phone systems, a particular question comes up. When should you switch to this type of phone systems?

What's Virtual PBX?

Business enterprises that sign up to hosted services seem more professional. This sets the mood for potential transactions with customers. If you are considering image, initial impressions have a huge impact. Small-scale and budding businesses could project a giant business image by outsourcing phone services. Using a virtual phone system, the service provider manages all communications in day-to-day business procedures.

PBX refers to the standard switchboard that deals with a business' communications. Business VoIP is modern-day services hosted on remote servers, not even close to the exact area of the business. All these virtual solutions are very extensive and may include voicemail, call redirecting, online free fax and a virtual receptionist.

Linking all business communications to a hosted PBX system is a cheap way for you to deal with all telephone calls, faxes and email.

What you must consider in transforming your phone system?

Before you sign up for Virtual PBX, you need to make sure you are having the perfect investment. Look into the subsequent ideas: - Functions and more. Explore on the different features of hosted PBX. Then, decide whether they are the features you would need and want for everyday enterprise communications. - Business phone specifications. Several telephone systems possess unique features. Take a look at your business plan and verify when your enterprise needs extensions, voicemail or mobile messaging. Identify your business' principal market and monthly sales target. With this, you are able to pinpoint what you need to gain from a hosted PBX setup. - Types of telephone systems. Enterprises are now able to choose amongst conventional PBX, VoIP-driven and hosted PBX arrangements. PBX systems could route telephone calls between and among co-workers. This could as well point phone calls to outside lines. Some PBX system use VoIP technology to lessen long-distance expenses. On the other hand, VoIP wipes out long-distance call service fees. Calls are re-routed by high-speed Internet, skipping a telephone network???s copper wires and cables. Virtual PBX works well for companies using different office sites and mobile staff. This combines an auto-attendant PBX system with VoIP technology.

If you have determined your enterprise communication preferences, contact your phone provider to change systems. The benefits you may acquire from Virtual PBX would help make the change worthwhile. Even though professionalism and overall costs are both the reasons for going the virtual path, they're not just the reasons. Connecting all business communications to pc systems and the Internet will help make almost any company extra effective and practical.

Frost & Sullivan: Smartphone-interfacing Solutions to Power ...

Released on July 18th, 2012

Low-cost navigation and telematics services help participants make inroads into the mass market

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ ? The North and Latin American automotive navigation markets are on the cusp of a shift to connected navigation systems that offer real-time traffic information and local searching options. Navigation systems, whether by original equipment (OE) fitment, aftermarket, or portable navigation device (PND), are feeling the heat of competition from smartphone-based navigation applications. Low-cost smartphone replication technologies are helping navigation markets breach the perimeter of the mass market.

New analysis from Frost & Sullivan (http://www.automotive.frost.com( http://www.frost.com/prod/servlet/svcg.pag/AT00 )), Key Trends and Forecasts for the North American and Latin American Automotive Navigation and Telematics Services Market, expects the North American market size for navigation systems to be at 18.7 million units, smartphone navigation subscribers to be at 402.2 million, and telematics service subscribers installed base to be at 31.6 million by 2016. On the other hand, the Latin American market size for navigation systems are likely to be at 5 million units, smartphone navigation subscribers at 160.8 million, and telematics service subscribers installed base at 21.4 million by 2016.

If you are interested in more information on this research, please send an email to Jeannette Garcia, Corporate Communications, at jeannette.garcia@frost.com( mailto:jeannette.garcia@frost.com ), with your full name, company name, title, telephone number, company email address, company website, city, state and country.

PNDs were the pioneers of low-cost navigation but are gradually losing ground to smartphone-based navigation. To offset their market slide, PND manufacturers are venturing into OE business to provide low-cost in-dash solutions; however, this will pit them directly against Tier-1 suppliers.

?Smartphone-based navigation?s success is compelling traditional OEMs to change their business models to incorporate smartphone content replication technologies like MirrorLink,? said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Krishna Jayaraman. ?The greater participation of consumer electronics vendors will enable automakers to better provide interfacing solutions to match product innovation.?

Meanwhile, in the telematics market OEMs are likely to aim for standardization, which could affect this market as it is either driven by a mandate or influenced by the success of major OEM participants. OEMs will be challenged to retain customers post the free trial period. In order to stay afloat, they have to offer value-added services.

Advanced technologies aim to present navigation in ?automotive grade,? which previously was considered unsafe. With high smartphone penetration, OEMs are also using smartphone interfacing solutions to differentiate their products in the market.

Despite the potential for growth, they must maintain competitive prices. Price-sensitive consumers will base their purchase decision on costs and will not be willing to pay for an application that is already available on their smartphones at attractive price points.

?While the North American market will stabilize soon with the introduction of newer business models, Latin America is still nascent and offers immense opportunities for all types of navigation systems,? said Jayaraman.

PND?s growth in Latin America is a prominent trend, while the stolen vehicle tracking (SVT) mandate will make Brazil one of the top competitors in the telematics market. Success in Latin America will be decided by how different navigation systems are marketed in that region.

Key Trends and Forecasts for the North American and Latin American Automotive Navigation and Telematics Services Market is part of the Automotive & Transportation Growth Partnership Services program, which also includes research in the following markets: Executive Analysis of European and North American Automotive App Store Concepts and Services, Strategic Analysis of the Impact of Smartphones and Apps on the European and North American Infotainment Market, and Strategic Analysis of European and North American Automotive Human Machine Interface Market. Olympic-size science explored on video

NSF / NBC

The biomechanics of weightlifting is one of the topics covered in "Science of the Summer Olympics," a 10-part video series. Click on the image to watch the video.

By Alan Boyle

The London Olympic Games don't start until next week, but if you're a science fan, the programming has already begun: Engineers, athletes and TV types have teamed up for a 10-part video series that delves into Olympic-size subjects ranging from biomechanics to split-second timers.

"Science of the Summer Olympics" is the latest collaboration involving the National Science Foundation, NBC Learn and NBC Olympics. (Like those other NBC units, NBCNews.com is owned by NBCUniversal.) The series builds upon earlier batches of educational videos that focused on the sports of the Winter Olympics as well as football and hockey.

This time around, engineering is squarely in the spotlight.

"The work of engineers not only affects Olympic sports, it also helps us perform ordinary activities in better ways," Thomas Peterson, NSF's assistant director for engineering, said in a news release. "This series will illustrate how engineers can impact both sports and society, and we hope it will inspire young people to pursue engineering."

Among the athletic stars of the videos are Usain Bolt, the world's fastest man; Oscar Pistorius, a Paralympian who will be competing for the first time against able-bodied runners in the Olympics; and swimmer Missy Franklin. One of coolest spots shows how the moves used by superheavyweight weightlifter Sarah Robles could be adapted to enhance a weightlifting robot's capabilities.

"I watch what she's doing, and it blows me away." said Brian Zenowich, a robotics engineer at Barrett Technology. To lift the huge weights in an Olympic-style snatch maneuver, Robles instinctively takes advantage of the barbell's momentum to flip her body from a pulling-up position to a pushing-up position.

"You're moving your body more than you're moving the bar," Robles explains in the video. Zenowich programmed his company's WAM Arm to do something similar, but with a 5-pound weight rather than a huge barbell. For now, Robles has nothing to fear from that particular robot, but the biomechanical tricks learned from athletes could conceivably lead to more humanlike dexterity on the part of future machines.

Lesson plans that capitalize on the videos will be made available via the NBC Learn website in August. In the meantime, check out these other resources for sports science:

Jennifer Lopez Talks Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes Divorce

Jennifer Lopez has shared her thoughts on the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes divorce.                                   The recently divorced Jennifer Lopez has spoken out, offering her sympathies towards Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in light of their impending divorce that many are predicting will turn ugly. Talking to Entertainment Tonight, the now former Idol judge says she is sad for them after hearing the news. ?I heard about it when I was in South America and I was stunned. They’re both really lovely people, and just like Mark and I, it’s not what you want to happen. You fight and you try until you realize you can’t anymore.? Adding,?I just wish them, you know, peace in their decision.? And really for Siri and their other children as well, because you become such a family, it’s not just Siri, it’s Conner and Isabella and everybody, you know, who all become a family. And when that breaks apart nobody wins, everybody’s heartbroken in some way. And I just wish them peace.? As many will remember, Lopez was part of a highly publicized divorce herself with Mark Anthony [...]

Sexy pictures, women being less visual, and ... - Talk About Marriage

My girlfriend is spending the summer a few hundred miles away from me. It's been tough, no question. I've visited her and she's visited me, and we skype, but...it's not easy.

Anyway, I thought sending her some pictures in various states of undress (and making clear I wanted sort of a sexy exchange...) would be a way to keep some sort of passion/sexual tension going.

I'm in very, very good shape. I'm not internet bragging but I've got lots of lean muscle, a prominent six pack, that V thing, etc. I'm 28 but in better shape than I was as a 22 year old collegiate track and field athlete.

She used to come across as very visual; she'd check me out all the time, point out my physical features to her friends, make lots of comments ("I hate to see you leave but I love to watch you go..." and that sort of thing), etc etc.

Over the course of our 1.5 year relationship, that's sort of cooled off a bit (okay, a lot) although I look exactly the same, AFAIK. I compliment her looks all the time, maybe too much (smothering?)

When I emailed her some pictures, she replied with a curt "Nice." And that was it. And she ignored my request for pictures in return.
I hinted again, a few days later, that I'd love a sexy picture of her. She played it off as a joke.

She's put on some weight over this summer - probably 10-15 lbs - and is very self-conscious about it. I personally think it looks great on her, as it seems to have just resulted in more curves, but she ignores my compliments or says "Ugh, I'm so FAT! Gross!"

So I guess what I'm asking is,

does being more self-conscious about your own looks diminish your attraction to your partner?
Or does that work indirectly by making you feel less sexual overall?

and/or

do women become less visually stimulated by the same old, same old after a while?

and/or

is there a possibility that she's just not that visual in the sense that women stereotypically are, and that she was just being flirty/friendly in the early stages of the relationship?

I just feel a little bit like she's not into me anymore, physically, but I realize that it might just be part of an issue of self-image.

Sorry if this comes across as ridiculous or egotistical or something and thanks for the help.
