On Monday, August 1?Diane Sawyer?will anchor a special edition of ?ABC World News with Diane Sawyer? from Washington, D.C. While the ABC News powerhouse political team continues to report on the "Countdown to Crisis," the broadcast will feature a number of special conversations about the ongoing debt debate.

With a framework for a deal to raise the debt ceiling on the table and party leaders trying to sell the deal to their members, Diane Sawyer caught up with several of the key players including Speaker of the House?John Boehner?(R-OH), House Minority Leader?Nancy Pelosi?(D-CA), and House Majority Leader?Eric Cantor?(R-VA) to ask about?the way forward.?

Nearly seven months after their first conversation, Diane Sawyer?reconvenes her panel of freshman Sawyer_Debt_GOP Republican lawmakers for an exclusive discussion about the nation?s fiscal house. This group of lawmakers, elected less than a year ago, has been one of the most influential freshmen classes in recent memory. Sawyer specifically asked the group about the debt ceiling during their discussion in January and now she follows up with them as the debt debate peaks -- has their position on the issue changed, what effect they think the Tea Party has had on the debate, and how they have dealt with the realities of governing since they last spoke.?Members participating in the conversation include:??

Sen. Mike Lee (UT)

Rep. Mo Brooks (AL-05)

Rep. Paul Gosar (AZ-01)

Rep. Michael Grimm (NY-13)

Rep. Frank Guinta (NH-01)

Rep. Vicky Hartzler (MO-04)

Rep. Tim Huelskamp (KS-01)

Rep. Marlin Stutzman (IN-03)

Rep. Scott Tipton (CO-03)

Then, as negotiations over raising the debt ceiling raged on in Washington throughout the weekend, Diane Sawyer set out into the country listening to how Americans really feel about the ongoing d
ebate on Capitol Hill. The men and women of?Fort Wayne, Indiana?sound off. Viewers can "Tell Washington" by submitting a comment, video, or photo here.
