Fun in One of a Kind Santa Fe NM | Albuquerque Real Estate Agent ...

I made a quick overnight trip to Santa Fe this past weekend. My daughter had rehearsals and performances for a children?s opera call ?Shoes for the Santo Nino? up at the Santa Fe Opera.

For those of you who may not know, the Santa Fe Opera brings vocalists and opera fans from around the country to its?beautiful outdoor performance space every summer. It?s one of New Mexico?s biggest cultural treasures. I?ve performed there in the past as an extra musician both onstage and off, but his weekend it was my daughter?s turn.

In between performances on Sunday, waiting for my daughter to finish her performances, my wife and I traveled to Canyon Road to visit some of our favorite art galleries and one of our favorite fun places, Kakawa Chocolate House.

We had some chocolate elixir and two chocolates including a bacon/chili/caramel chocolate (it was amazingly delicious). Kakawa is also the home of the bacon ice cream you may have heard me talk about before.

Kakawa is a small place that does not have many tables, so we had to sit right by the front door, across from a psychic who was doing readings.

Well, this was very distracting for me, I couldn?t help but listen in to the conversation between the psychic and her client. I was intrigued, to say the least, so once the client left I went and sat down with the pyschic. I wasn?t so interested in what she had to tell me about myself, and in fact I told her I did not want a reading, just to chat for a minute. I interviewed her about what it?s like to be psychic for about 5 minutes, and I had a terrific time doing so.

Soon it was time to go pick up my daughter, so my wife and I finished up our chocolatey treats and left Kakawa.

As I was leaving, the pyschic motioned me over and said ?You should write more music.? I smiled appreciatively and walked away.

She got the write more part correct, but not the music part. I?ve never written music.

These are the kind of fun and strange things you can do in the city different. Gotta love Santa Fe.
