McAvoy Takes A Plunge For Charity

Actor James McAvoy once jumped from the top of the world's tallest hospital as part of a publicity stunt to raise awareness for a Ugandan children's charity.

The Last King of Scotland star was on location shooting in the African country when he got involved with Retrak, an organisation which aims to help reunite kids living on the streets with their families.

And McAvoy was so taken by the agency's efforts, he pledged his help to the cause in a crazy way, taking the plunge from the roof of London's Guy's Hospital, which stands at 153 metres (501 feet) high, to attract media attention.

During an appearance on U.S. talk show Live With Regis and Kelly on Monday, he says, "It's just really a publicity stunt, to try to make people more aware of Retrak. And they made me jump off a building. So I went face-first down from the tallest hospital in the world. It was terrifying but it was kind of fun. It was a good way to try and raise money for charity."
